As per Government rules tax free LTA claims are allowed twice in four year buckets or thrice if one instance is carried forward from previous bucket. If carried forward from previous year then you have to take the LTA in the first year of next bucket.
To submit a LTA claim on click "LTA Claim" Button
You would get two options under Nature of Claim -
i) Trip made : use this option if you have gone on a LTA trip
ii) No trip made : use this option if you have not gone on a LTA trip and want
to claim you money, the amount paid to you will be added to your taxable income
1. Tax free LTA claim
- If LTA is claimed as tax free reimbursement and as per company policy you have
to take leave during the period then system will prevent you from submission
unless you have approved leaves in the claim period
- Enter the details of family members who have gone on LTA
- Upload any supporting documents (if required), you can upload line wise also
- You can claim more than eligibility amount but should not be more than Net
Available amount
- Click on "Submit"
You can claim two LTAs as Tax free in a block of 4 years but only one in a calendar year. The leave linked to LTA claim cannot be withdrawn after approval and it cannot be deleted in setup also.
2. Tax paid LTA claim
If you want to claim under this option you will not be required to upload any
supporting, you can just mention the amount which you want to claim.
3. Special Cash Package
As shown below you will be required to provide details of
- Name - this is the family member name : this name is coming from the Family
Details table on My Profile
- Date : date of purchase
- GST % : the GST percentage paid
- Claimed amount : total amount of the bill which you want to claim
Once you submit this claim it will go for verification like other claims. The
amount which will be paid to you against this claim will be 1/3rd of the Claimed
Amount upto a maximum of Rs 36,000 per family member. If you have amount remaining
in LTA you can claim it using option 2.
