To change the Department (or Division) of an employee follow the the steps given below -
1. Navigate to employee's profile page either from HR Mgr page or by directly
typing the employee's name in the search bar on the My Profile page
2. Click on the Edit button the Official Details section as shown in the image
below
After clicking on the update button available on the employee details page, you
will be navigated to the employee HR record page as shown above.
3. On the popup which comes up click on the field you want to change, for example - Office Location
4. If the history tracking feature is enabled then you will get an additional popup where you will have to input the date from which this change is effective. The date can be in past or in future but there might be some scenarios in which the change from a past date might not be allowed beyond a period.
Note -
1. Changes to Department mapping are saved when you click on Yes on the Manage
Department popup, even if you click on Cancel on the Edit Official Details popup
it would not make any difference and the changes would have been saved
2. If the change of Department / Division changes the mapping of employee with
some policies these changes will be implemented from the date of mapping
3. If the new Department / Division is mapped to a different Department / Division
head then any new request which require Department / Division head approval will
be mapped to them. Existing requests which were pending with the previous Department
/ Division heads will remain pending with them.
