Two types of managers can be configured in EazeWork HRMS - Manager and Functional Manager, this allows to have a matrix type of reporting where in the employee can report to the functional manager for some activities. Functional manager is an optional feature and needs to be activated.
HR Manger can make changes to the Manager or Functional Manager of any employee
from the drop-down available on the official details section as show below.
Steps to be followed -
Mapping "Self" as Manager
Sometimes
in a company there are employees at a senior level who do not report to the CEO
or MD. There are two ways to handle this scenario
a) leave the manager of these employees as blank - this is not the preferred
option as system will these employees as not having any manager and for any process
where manager's approval is needed system will stop the employee and give a message
"Manager not defined"
b) map "Self" as the manager - in the manager drop-down the first entry is "Self",
if we map an employee to "Self" then system will treat the employee to be his
own manager. All the processes where approver role is mapped to manager will
now get auto approved, however system will stop you from submitting your resignation
Employees cannot be mapped to "Self" as manager in the following scenarios
- if his employee type is "Trainee"
- if his employment status is "On Probation"
If HR changes from an existing manager to "Self" then all requests pending for approval with the manager will get auto approved.
If this employee resigns then all the employee's mapped to this employee will
be mapped to App Admin.
