Towards the end of financial year the details of actual tax savings need to be updated in the portal. Like the tax saving declaration process this is also controlled by the Payroll manager and you can update the tax saving proofs only when window is open. Alert would come to you when the window for updating Tax saving submission is opened. This option is available to all employees who are mapped to Old Regime, for employees mapped to New Regime this process will be released only if there are some heads which have been paid to them as taxfree heads in salary and for which the supporting documents are needed.
Details which you had updated during the Tax Saving Declaration cycle are visible and can be modified in this stage. If you add a new row the option to upload supporting document will come only after you save the row.
Once the savings are declared the form is visible in submitted status and a PDF can be downloaded. Post submission changes in details cannot be made by you but only by the Payroll Manager.
Note : If the submissions are not done within the due date the payroll will be run considering zero declarations and tax might be deducted.
During this submission process you would be able to submit the supporting documents
for
a) Tax saving which you had declared
b) House rent receipts
c) Supporting for tax free salary components
Payroll manager will be able to verify and approve the submission, he cannot process payroll unless he approves your submission. But if you do not make the submissions in time then he would be able to process the payroll and your tax might be calculated assuming no tax saving declarations.
Updating Tax Saving Submission
Once
you have submitted the form and Payroll Manager has approved all or some of the
entries you will be able to see the status at row level and you will be able
to add more rows or make changes only to those records which have not been approved
as shown below.
