Organizational Hierarchy
As shown in the image above the organizational hierarchy is created based on the reporting structure. Every employee is mapped to a Manager.
In the example shown above the senior most person is Nipun - he can change the mapping of any of the 6 employees below him. While Rupa can edit records of only Dinesh, Roshni, Surendar and Abhay and Roshni can edit only Surendar or Abhay's records.
Locations Hierarchy
Location hierarchy is created based on the mapping of each location with a parent location.
If we superimpose the location hierarchy and assume the following scenario
Location | Location Type | Employee(s) |
Mumbai | Branch Office | Nipun |
Mumbai City | City Office | Rupa, Dinesh, Roshni |
Thane | City Office | Bhaskar |
Bandra | Outlet | Surendar |
Andheri West | Outlet | Abhay |
Then -
- Nipun can transfer employees from any location to any other location
- Rupa can transfer Dinesh / Roshni / Surendar / Abhay across Mumbai City, Bandra
and Andheri West but cannot transfer them to Thane or Mumbai (Branch Office)
- Roshni can transfer Surendar / Abhay but only between Bandra and Andheri West
locations.
Basically Managers can change the work location and manager mapping only for the team below them and only within the locations mapped under them.
