Leave deductions based on attendance shortfall
There are two ways in which the system can be used to create a leave against attendance shortfall.
1. Manual creation of LWP against attendance shortfall
2. Automatic deduction of leave against Absent records
1. Manual creation of LWP
Menu Path : HR Manager > Attendance Reg > Attendance Shortfall tab
Accessible to : HR Manager
As an HR Manager you can create Leave Without Pay (LWP) for employees based on
their attendance shortfall.
1. Input the date range for the period for which you want to check the shortfall
2. Select the range of working hours you want to see the records for, you can leave this blank also
3. Click on "Generate List" button, the table shown below will be generated

4. Select the records for which you want to create LWP
5. Select the option from LWP or 0.5 LWP (half day LWP)
6. System will show you the following confirmation messages

Second message

2. Any LWP created from this process will show "Leave created as there was shortfall
in working hours" in remarks and will show the name of the HR Manager as the
creator of the leave.
3. System will not allow you to create a LWP or a 0.5 LWP for days on which the
attendance status is Full Day Leave, Weekly Off, Compulsory Holiday, Partial
Day Leave or if the Leave requests are submitted but not approved.
4. If half day LWP is created using this process it would always create First
Half LWP
2. Automatic creation of leave against absent records
A policy can be setup in attendance setup which will enable the system to automatically deduct leave if employee's attendance is missing (status is Absent) more than a certain number of days. The scenario is shown with the help of example below.

Example
Priority of leaves is
1. Casual Leave
2. Leave Without Pay
Process data after = 2 days
If an employee's record for 11/Jan is Absent then on 13/Jan at around 00:30 hours as per the company time-zone a batch job will run which will create a Casual Leave for 11/Jan and this leave will be auto approved. In the leave the remarks will show "Created automatically by system against missing attendance."
If there is not sufficient balance in Casual Leave then Leave Without Pay will be created.
This method can be used to create leaves against full day absent or partial day absent records.
