If your company's leave policy allows you to take quarter, half or three-fourth
day leaves the same can be enabled in EazeHR also.
To submit a partial day's leave there are only two conditions
1. This feature should be enabled in setup
2. The leave start and leave end day should be same
In some cases there are half day working days - typically on Saturdays. If you
apply for a leave on such a day then even if the leave type is not enabled for
half day still the system will only deduct a half day leave. Or if leave application
is for multiple days but there is a half working day in between then also the
leaves consumed would be with a half day.
Combining Leave and Attendance Data
If an employee gets a
half day leave approved for lets say, 12-April, and
a) he does not come to office on 12th at all - in this case his attendance status
would be "Half Day Casual Leave and Half Day Absent" due to space constraint
in some places it would be shown as "0.5 CL + Absent"
b) he comes to office and works for the full day - system will record his in
and out time and if he wants to withdraw his leave he will have to do it separately.
Day's status would be "0.5CL + Present"
Part Day Leaves and Attendance Status
The following scenarios explain how the interplay between part-day leaves (this
could be 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75 day) and attendance is managed in the system –
- If the employee has taken half-day leave on a day and he has not came to office
than the status for his Attendance is shown as “Half day <Leave Type>,
half day Absent”. On the relevant leave reports it shows as a Half day leave.
Similar quarter-day leave and 0.75 day leaves are shown.
- Similarly if employee come to office on his half day leave and mark present
than his attendance status would be “Half day <Leave Type>, half day
Present”. Similar quarter-day leave and 0.75 day leaves are shown.
- If the attendance for the employee is pending and he has actually taken half
day leave. After this is done when the manager approves his pending attendance
as Present the system will automatically mark him with an In-time and Out-time
for the first half of the day.
- Similarly if employee is on quarter day leave and manager approves his
pending attendance as Present the system will automatically mark him with an
In-time and Out-time for the first 0.75 of the day.
- Similarly if employee is on 0.75 day leave and manager approves his pending
attendance as Present the system will automatically mark him with an In-time
and Out-time for the first quarter of the day.
