Probation overview

If an employee is on probation then through this process the confirmation process can be managed. There are two ways to manage the probation process in EazeWork HRMS.
1. Simple - Employee's Employment status can be changed from "On Probation" to "Working" by HR Manager any point of time. Refer article on Basic Probation process for more details.
2. Advanced - advanced option where a detailed probation confirmation process is available. Advance probation process can be activated by the Application Administrator from Setup > HR Setup > HRIS > Processes tab.

If advanced probation process is enabled then the probation confirmation form and process can be designed, refer to Probation setup for more details.

Advanced Probation Process

Probationary period is the period during which a new joiner is on probation. This period can vary by departments or by seniority levels depending on the company policy. On successful completion of probation period a Probation confirmation letter is generated.

Probation process can be multiple step or can be designed to be just one step. You can choose to
- include the employee / exclude the employee
- have a single step / multiple step review

You can also choose to have a process which just uses subjective criteria for getting feedback or you can use scores and ratings also to bring in objectivity. You can also automate the process for generation of probation confirmation letter / probation extension letter and customize their formats.

At the end of probation period after the assessor has three options to choose
1. Probation confirmation
2. Probation extension
3. Request separation

Change of Probation Policy

There are multiple ways in which probation policy mapped to an employee can change
1. A new policy of higher priority is created
2. Employee's parameters like Level or Department get changed due to which the policy mapping changes
3. Existing policy is deleted an employees mapped to this policy get mapped to the next applicable policy
In all these cases the new policy will get mapped to the employee as long as the probation form has not been filled up by the employee or the assessor.
