EazeWork Feature Update - May 26

1. Overall changes
- A new dashboard for compliance tracking for some of the laws which have been brought into effect with the implementation of four labor codes is now available. This feature is in Beta. To activate this feature go to Setup > Common Setup > Access Control > Records Access tab and on the Compliance Dashboard row add the list of roles to which this dashboard should be made visible. Please note that the details which are going to be visible and data which can be downloaded from this dashboard is common and not based on the role of the user.
- Work Area > Archive page has been renamed to Work Area > Requests page. Through this page employees can see requests / records of other employees if they have been given access. Refer article for more details.
- Pages to view Attendance and Leave records have been enhanced and made in line with the pages on the mobile app. The access to attendance and leave records pages is now controlled through the Records Access page
- A feature to track and record details of annual health check-up for employees is released. Refer article for more details.
- After a new employee is updated as joined some activities can be made mandatory and some activities can be made optional for them to complete. Refer to the article on Post Onboarding Activities for more details.
- Letters and documents were not being generated for non-web users if Acknowledgement / E-Signing feature was enabled. This constraint has been removed and now all letters / documents are also going to be generated for non-web users but they will not be able to Acknowledge / E-Sign them in the system.
- Appointment letters were allowed to be generated only for employees with date of joining after the software activation, this constraint has been removed and now appointment letters can be generated for all employees including non-web users.
- Letters and documents were not being generated for Non-Web users if letter acknowledgement / acceptance / e signing feature was activated. This has been enhanced and now system letters and documents will be generated for Non-Web users also. Even if the feature is activated then these will not be sent for acknowledgement / acceptance / e signing to Non-Web users.
- Selfie data will be visible for current plus two months in past. Data earlier than that will be archived.
4. India Payroll changes
- Salary payment date updation - when salary payment advices are generated the option to update the salary payment date manually is now available, using this feature you can manage the compliance on timely payment of salary as per Code on Wages, 2020
- Interest free/concessional loans
- interest savings of interest free loans are not added to perquisite tax if aggregate loan received is less than ₹20,000 - a new parameter has been added on Payroll Setup > Salary Heads > Loan tab using which you can activate this feature
- medical loans taken for treatment of specified disease under rule 3A
like Cancer, AIDS etc are exempt up to the amount net of amount
reimbursed by insurance company but not repaid back to company, provided
the treatment happens in approved hospitals with exemption. A new system defined head "Medical Loans - Specified Disease" has been added to avail of this feature. Refer article for more details
- Salary advance is treated as an advance and not as a loan and no perquisite tax is applied to salary advance given to employees. To model this feature a new system defined head "Salary Advance" has been added

- Previous employer declaration process changes
- Taxfree gratuity and leave encashment earned at previous employers was earlier included as a part of Previous Employer declaration. It has now been made as an independent declaration which new joiners are shown as an optional task. Payroll Managers can also update it on behalf of the employee from Declarations > Other Declarations tab.
- Details submitted through previous employer declaration by employee or by payroll manager are used in payroll to calculate the taxable income and tax liability. When these details are used in payroll the status will be shown as "In Use"
- Gratuity setup has been modified, separation reason = Terminated has been removed
- Professional Tax deduction has been discontinued in Odissa from April 2026
- As per circular dated 08-05-2026 HLWF Change w.e.f 01/01/2026
a) Employee contribution will change INR 34 to Rs INR 35 per month
b) Employer share twice of the employees share and it will be INR 68 to INR 70 per month
- Processing of Retrenchment as per the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 is now available. Retrenchment has been added as a new reason for separation which will be available only when Separation type = Management Initiated. Refer to the article on Retrenchment of Employees for more details
6. Expense changes
- A feature to limit expense heads which can be claimed by claim type is now available. Using this feature the system can be configured to ensure that employees are submitting expense claims with the right expense heads. Refer to the article on Expense Setup for more details. Before this feature can be used the users should be asked to update their mobile app to version 2.8.3.
